Michelle Hockers graduated magna cum laude in the Top 5% of her class from Marquette University Law School earning her Juris Doctorate with a certificate in litigation in May of 2015. While in law school, she was heavily involved in the Moot Court Program and competed in National competitions. As a third-year student, Michelle completed an internship with the Wisconsin State Public Defender’s Office in the Milwaukee County Trial Division where she gained valuable courtroom experience. Michelle was a St. Thomas More Scholar and received five CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for earning the top grade in her class.
Prior to beginning law school, Michelle was a Pre-Law Scholar at Marquette University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language and Literature in July of 2013 magna cum laude. Through the pre-law scholars program, Michelle completed both undergraduate courses and her law school degree in 6 years instead of the usual 7 years most students require.
Michelle was born and raised in West Bend, Wisconsin. She currently resides in West Bend, Wisconsin. Outside the practice of law, Michelle enjoys boating with her husband and spending time with her family and friends. She is also an avid runner and participates in several half marathons each year. She is also a member of the Bay View Bicycle Club and has volunteered as a bike marshal for the UPAF Ride for the Arts. In the past, Michelle has also volunteered for the Boys & Girls Club of Washington County, participated in Big Brothers Big Sisters, and coached youth girls basketball.
